Be Healthy with Organic Milk

 If you are concerned for your family's health, you may want to think about switching to drinking organic milk.  There are multiple reasons why organic milk is better for you than the regular milk you buy off your supermarket shelves.  Although there were not a lot of conclusive studies proving this at first, as more research on the topic is done it is becoming more evident that there are definite advantages to drinking organic milk.

 Organic milk comes from cows whose milk production has not been stimulated by the use of hormones and who have not been given antibiotics to fight infection.  The best type of organic milk, with the most benefits however, comes from cows that also only eat fresh grass and clover, and clover silage and are not grain fed.

Tests done by the USDA Pesticide Data Program in 2004, showed that there was no longer any trace of pesticides found in organic milk.  During the same procedure it was found that regular milk had traces of pesticides in 24% of the samples. 

Organic milk has much higher percentages of Vitamin E and Vitamin A, due to the organic cows browsing and eating fresh pasture.  It also has much higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid as well, which is a mineral that increases both immunity and metabolism in humans. This particular substance is not produced by the human body, and is obtained through drinking milk and eating dairy products.   Other trace minerals that help with breast milk production and protect children from allergies and eczema are also found exclusively in organic milk.

Organic milk, from cows that are exclusively pasture grazed has been found to be far superior to regular milk, and in many people's opinion is well worth the additional cost as the money saved in medical bills alone more than makes up for it.
